I sat alone and watched a group of people come alive. These people are normally normal, but as soon all other observers excepting me left the room, these people absolutely hummed with electrical currents of happiness. It was infectious. They danced, laughed, sang and laughed even more. I wondered why they weren’t like this always, but then it occurred to me that they save this type of show either for people they care for, or only in the presence of a few lucky persons like me.

What a week to feel a slave to my own emotions and consequential things that should have no influence from me. Maybe this is the Great Law of Karma talking to me. From behind the veil of a million hours passed. Why should I be tormented by decisions I made in my past? It shouldn’t matter anymore because I have let go of that negativity. Life, my friends is one of the most beautiful, cruel, blissful, and painful things every human goes through. Here I am, living mine.

Emotional Colours.

‘Seeing red’ never applied to me. I typically don’t get mad, and when I do my head swims with black and white.

Green is the colour of my calmness, a cliche thing, but still true nevertheless.

The colour of love is orange to me because orange is fiery but mellow. Cool and passionate.

Blue is the colour of my normal mood. Just there, breathing, thinking.

Purple is the feel I get when I write. It pours out like my aura on a sunny morning.

Teal is what I see when the world rains down on me. Not happy, not sad. Just there, like nothing.

Yellow is my happy. Sunny, bright, constant, exciting. You’ll know when I am because all I do is sm:)e.

Grey is numb. And rare, at best. Thankfully.

What’s your life like in the midst of all those flowers that smell like the flesh

that drops of the bones of all those skeletons in your locked closet?

I said good morning.

and when I left you still didn’t turn off those lights.

I looked at your eyes and I wondered if I saw a glimmer of a lie in that smirk you handed me.

I saw the sunrise.

Okay, I’m being considerate,

and I told you I loved you and such.

But so what?

You lied just the same.

And now here we are,

in this stupid rain.

Yeah,

here we are.

I’ll bow out gracefully and make a spectacle of you.

In all sincerity what else would I want to do?

Valentine’s Day thoughts.

When I think of Valentine’s Day, the same picture always comes to mind:

Ridiculous amounts of red, pink, and white. Sickeningly cute couples with roses, teddy bears, love-notes and chocolates. Crepe paper streams, heart balloons, love. Hearts, hearts, hearts, and more hearts.

Why do we take such a simple, pure, beautiful thing and mass produce things that are basically mocking it? I don’t agree with Valentine’s Day, at all. I don’t appreciate the marketing scheme placed on love during this day. It is fake, trite, and cheap. Love is a wonderful thing, let’s not run it into the ground because one day says we have the ‘right’ to do so. And if this is your ‘one day’ to really share your loving feelings, you have deep-set issues that need to be resolved.

Object Poem.

Laundry.

I wash Clothes

and they’re so dirty

Fermented in a faint scent

reminiscent of dank basements.

I haven’t done this in a while

as my nostrils inform me

Of this heaping pile

Like bodies.

Now, like a giant

Monster really ready

to eat my whole day

in one fickle bite;

Oh, there you are

You have the next 5,000 loads

Good day to you

who just walked in the door.

Upon the Fakeness of Humans

Look around where there are people.

Tell me what you see.

I know you see them, moving, talking, laughing, crying, smiling…..

acting.

The whole world’s a stage. No one is real.

Reality is not even real.

We come here, naked and oblivious. Scared of only loud noises and falling. We learn to fear everything. We learn to fear so much that we are basically confined by our minds to a radius with less space than a prison cell. But look around you…every action is a learned behavior timed out due to what we, as humans, believe is sociably acceptable. 97% of ‘individuals’ don’t do anything for themselves. They take carbon copies copied from carbon copies and base their lives around those beliefs. Life is not a race. We are born completely equal, as humans, no more, no less. Life is not a fashion show. Think about that next time you leave your comfort zone to impress another human being.

And they believe they are the movers and shakers.

What a lie.

Just remember the next time you ‘start’ something that every last thing you have ever done has been done billions of times over. It’s what you gain from the experience that makes you unique, not what you’ve done or what has been done to you.

Instead of thinking on terms of you, think on terms of us. We are all one.
